Newly planted trees can get stressed out if it is too hot and you won’t need to water nearly as much 💧⁣ ⁣ Second, without any pressure to fruit or flower, the plant can focus purely on root development, which is especially important for young trees 🍎⁣ ⁣ Three, cooler temps mean less weeds

Galena Berkompas • Urban Flower Farm • Education on Instagram: "This week is all about flipping our big tunnel, which involves ripping out all the summer crops, amending the soil (I just add in some slow release nitrogen), and replanting it with spring flowers for early blooms next year. After the summer plants get ripped out, I use a broadfork to loosen up the soil and help mix in the nitrogen before planting a new crop. It’s an alternative to tilling that doesn’t break up the existing soil str
