Introducing periodic fire to fire-adapted landscapes and reducing forest fuels has been shown to reduce the potential for high-intensity wildfires and the huge volume of smoke produced by them. The Oregon Department of Forestry has a great opportunity this year to participate in a new pilot project testing out EnviroVision Solutions Mobile Detection Units. These mobile camera detection units have all the same capabilities of our stationary wildfire camera sites, but can easily be moved and set up in minutes. The units will help the agency scope out to determine the viability of a new camera site before installation, support suppression efforts by giving situational awareness on a wildf
