The Los Angeles Police Department has released video of officers shooting a man who was had been wielding a machete in downtown L.A. in July. The man was identified as 36-year-old Gurpreet Singh, who died in the hospital shortly after the shooting. A man on a motorcycle reached speeds over 140 mph on a highway east of Los Angeles on Monday, leading police officers in a high-speed chase, after he shot and killed a sheriff’s deputy. A car driven by an off-duty undercover officer eventually struck the suspect’s bike, sending him flying, police said. The suspect is being treated at a local hospital. | CBS Mornings
