Biologically, stingrays belong to the subclass Elasmobranchii, meaning their skeletons are made of cartilage, not bone — the same group as sharks. Once released, the membrane dissolves, the fins unfold, and they take on the familiar flat, wing-shaped body designed for smooth gliding along the seafloor. Nat
