Water filled spheres make the perfect solar lens to focus the suns rays and create a smoldering ember. The POM bottle is the perfect example. Just fill an empty POM bottle with water and use it to focus the suns rays onto a pile of dry rotting wood. Once it smolders, place the ember into a tinder bundle and blow into flame.
