Meet Lexington, an African spurred tortoise, also called the sulcata tortoise. Most sulcata tortoises live at the southern edge of the Sahara desert, in Africa. Did you know they are the third-largest species of tortoise in the world, the largest species of mainland tortoise? Lexington’s first four years of life were quite difficult, as evidenced in the significant pyramiding of his shell. Today, he lives at his forever home with all of nutrients and love necessary to live a healthy, long life.
