Carl discovered his love for genealogy as a child listening to his grandparents’ stories during summer trips to Oregon. He holds a Bachelor’s in Family History/Genealogy from BYU and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Syracuse University. Before joining the Clayton Library, he worked as a Genealogy Librarian and Branch Manager in Texas. His research focuses on the Southern U.S., Mexico, Brazil, and Scandinavia, and he’s passionate about digitization, record access, and inspiring
