For the past few years, the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House (DTES NH) has been intermittently providing nourishing meals to residents of CRAB Park, as well as Oppenheimer Park and several other spots throughout Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Food & Nutrition — Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House
As a free self-use space within the CDI, our neighbours can access fresh and shelf-stable items at no cost in a low-barrier space. It’s open to all who access the DTES NH’s programs – from the general public, to our families, children, and seniors.
DAILY MEAL PROGRAM - A Better Life Foundation
In partnership with Atira & BC Housing, the Daily Meal Program is a cornerstone of our work. Preparing, cooking, packaging and delivering 1,000+ scratch-made meals to residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside 365 days a year is where we start with food security.
Food Resources - CMHA Get Set & Connect Program
The Job Program offers on-the-job training and life skills support to Downtown Eastside residents who face employment barriers; The Community Meal Program provides free meals to a specific group of 100 residents struggling with physical, mental, and addiction health issues
