Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet with Israeli and Qatari officials as the Trump administration works to secure a deal to end the war in Gaza.

Talks to end the war in Gaza have collapsed, bringing to an end the longest round of negotiations since the war started in October 2023.

Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s special envoy, is returning to the United States without securing a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Israel has recalled its Gaza negotiators from Qatar after the latest discussions with Hamas failed to yield a ceasefire deal. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said that "in light of the response Hamas provided this morning,

"The flexibility and constructive approach shown by Israel in the negotiations are not matched by Hamas,” the official said. Israel has made "significant strides" in its efforts to reach a hostage deal;
