OpenAI would be interested in buying Google’s Chrome browser if a federal court orders it to be spun off, the head of ChatGPT said in a court hearing Tuesday.

OpenAI would be willing to buy Google's Chrome browser if a court orders its buyout, said Nick Turley, OpenAI's ChatGPT chief, on Tuesday. Turley was asked to testify by the Department of Justice (DOJ) as part of Google's antitrust trial that is expected to go on for the next three weeks (as reported by Bloomberg ).

An OpenAI exec said the company would consider acquiring Chrome if Google is forced to sell it. The DOJ had asked a judge to force Google to divest Chrome as part of its antitrust case. Integrating ChatGPT with Chrome "could offer a really incredible experience," said ChatGPT's product head.
