Netflix, Movie Theater and Stranger Things

Fan-favourite sci-fi thriller Stranger Things is already winning hearts with the first few episodes of its latest season. With the finale set to release on December 31, anticipation is soaring among fans.
One of the biggest announcements arrived from Netflix on Tuesday, showcasing how wildly popular "Stranger Things" Season 5 was upon its premiere. According to Netflix, it achieved 59.6 million views, which made it "the biggest premiere week ever for an English language show" in the streamer's history.
Netflix's Stranger Things 5 apparel, toys, food and other merch includes the $300 Lego Icons Stranger Things: The Creel House Set.
For all those pesky processed-food stains, Tide and Netflix have teamed to "prove that liquid Tide" is "No Stranger to Stains" with a campaign that stars Cara Buono as her Stranger Things character Karen Wheeler. They're more talking about the blood- and general monster-splatter variety there though.
By far the most-watched title on the platform, Stranger Things 5 was followed by two new Netflix original Christmas movies that each put up a decent performance. Jingle Bell Heist, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells, swiped the No. 1 spot with 19.3M views. In second place was the Minka Kelly -led Champagne Problems with 14.4M views.
Nevertheless, the self-report confirms what many of us long assumed: Lots of people are still watching Stranger Things, despite how much it also seems like people are complaining about it. Still, it’s not the best premiere-week viewership ever. That title belongs to Squid Game seasons two and three.
