A total of four earthquakes rocked the Inland Empire overnight, meaning the region experienced five quakes across a 13-hour span on Tuesday and Wednesday. The series began with a 3.5 magnitude quake at 4:55 p.m. near Rialto. The U.S. Geological Survey said it was felt throughout the I.E., including in Ontario and Fontana.

Several small earthquakes hit the Inland Empire early Wednesday morning, but there were no reports of damage. Ontario saw two quakes — measuring 3.5 and 3.2 magnitude — just after 1 a.m. That was followed by a 3.5 magnitude quake in Ontario and a 3.7 temblor in Lytle Creek.

Residents living in the Inland Empire may have been woken by a series of earthquakes that shook the area during the early morning hours on Wednesday. The first was a 3.5 magnitude quake that struck at 1:02 a.
