South Africa’s Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy with a back injury, the latest in a long line of setbacks for the fast bowler.

South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions Trophy and the rest of the SA20, due to a back injury. Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed the news on Wednesday. Nortje's injury was revealed after he underwent scans on Monday afternoon.

"Pretoria Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the remainder of the Betway SA20 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury," said Cricket South Africa in a statement.

Though South Africa are yet to name a replacement for injured pacer Anrich Nortje, Gerald Coetzee is believed to be the likely candidate as he was in a direct shoot-out with the 31-year-old for a spot in the Proteas attack.
