Following a massive manhunt,Vance Boelter has now been arrested, after being found in a field near Green Isle in Sibley County.

The man suspected in the shooting deaths of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband has ties to North Texas. NBC 5 learned that 57-year-old Vance Boelter attended Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman lived in West Des Moines for nearly a decade and is credited with forming an active Democratic Party there.

The Utah Republican downplayed and joked about what authorities say were politically motivated shootings over the weekend of Minnesota Democratic lawmakers.
