Shohei Ohtani threw his second bullpen session of spring training on Tuesday. That continued the process of his return to the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani took another step forward in his recovery on Tuesday, throwing his second bullpen spring training session in Glendale, Arizona. The two-way sensation is working his way back to the mound after undergoing elbow surgery in 2023, which limited him to hitting only last season.

Shohei Ohtani took the mound for the first time this spring on Saturday. The Dodgers’ two-way superstar threw 14 pitches in his return to the rubber, all two-seam and four-seam fastballs, in front of 1,000 fans in Glendale, Arizona, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.

Manager Dave Roberts says Ohtani, 17 months after his second Tommy John surgery and three months after surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, was throwing 92-94 mph.
