Fighting erupted a week ago between Druze fighters and Sunni Bedouin. Syrian troops sent to intervene were drawn in and accused of widespread abuses against the Druze.

Syria’s armed Bedouin clans announced Sunday they had withdrawn from the Druze-majority city of Sweida following weeklong clashes and a US-brokered ceasefire, as humanitarian aid convoys started to enter the battered southern city.
