B.C. approves new police training sites in Vancouver and Victoria
VICTORIA — Two new police training sites have been approved in Vancouver and Victoria to address a surge in demand for recruits from communities across British Columbia.
There was a time when rail travel was common in BC, sort of like a land-based cruise, and Vernon videographer and historian Francois Arseneault has footage of such a voyage from the late 1960s.
The Victoria site will train recruits from the four Vancouver Island communities with independent municipal police forces.
