Powerball lottery player wins big in Macon. What’s the prize?
A lottery player became $50,000 richer Saturday after matching winning numbers on a Powerball ticket at a Macon gas station, according to Georgia Lottery. The lucky winner bought their Powerball ticket at Marathon gas station, 5250 Riverside Drive off New Forsyth Road, a news release said on Monday.
The winning numbers for an estimated $1 billion Powerball jackpot— the seventh-largest in the lottery game's history — are 1, 28, 31, 57 and 58 with a Powerball of 16.
The Powerball jackpot rose to an estimated $1.25 billion after no winners were drawn on Monday night, the lottery’s sixth-largest prize ever, though a lucky winner would receive significantly less of that amount after paying required taxes.
