MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The man suspected of killing a Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another crawled to officers in order to surrender Sunday after they found him in the woods near his home, bringing an end to a massive, nearly two-day search that put the entire state on edge.
Police have discovered a second hit list linked to Vance Luther Boelter, suspect in the shooting of Minnesota lawmakers. The new list names over a dozen additional targets. Boelter killed former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and wounded State Sen.
The search for the suspect accused of shooting State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, while impersonating a police officer continued into Sunday (June 15).
Vance Boelter, the suspect in the assassination of Rep. Melissa Hortman, is in custody, according to various reports. In a statement shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, House Speaker Lisa Demuth (R-Cold Spring) confirmed Boelter's arrest.
