The Big Ten Conference Baseball Tournament ended Day 1 on an electric note Tuesday. 8-seed Nebraska trailed 12-seed Michigan State by as much as three midway through the game. The Huskers added a pair in the sixth inning before tying the game in the ninth.

Robby Bolin’s single in the 10th inning produced a Nebraska win over Michigan State Tuesday night at the Big Ten baseball tournament.

No. 8 Nebraska will play their second pool game on Friday when they take on No. 1 Oregon at 6 p.m. at Charles Schwab Field.

The Huskers had just come off a west coast trip where they went 3-8 after being swept at UCLA and winning one game at Southern California, with a two-game sweep over Pepperdine in the middle. They sat 2-7 in Big Ten play, and even though it was still early, looked like a long shot to reach the postseason.

OMAHA, Neb. (WILX) - Michigan State baseball couldn’t hold onto a one-run lead in the bottom of the 9th and fell 5-4 to Nebraska in 10 innings in the Big Ten Tournament.

The Huskers faced off against Purdue on Thursday night. Despite falling behind 8-0, Nebraska outscored the Boilermakers 11-1 to snatch the 11-9 win.

In 2024, Nebraska went 1-2 in the Shriners Children's College Showdown. The Huskers opened with a 4-1 win over Baylor before suffering 6-3 and 7-6 losses to No. 21 Texas Tech and Oklahoma, respectively. In 2022, Nebraska played No. 17 TCU in a three-game series at Globe Life Field. The Huskers were swept in that series.

Don't make plans for next week, Husker fans! Nebraska baseball is almost certainly a lock for the Big Ten Tournament.

The Huskers answered right back with a leadoff triple that Swansen banged off the top of the wall in center and ricocheted away from the center fielder. Dylan Carey continued to pile up stats in West Lafayette, hit a sac fly that was tracked down on a great play by the left fielder, otherwise it would have probably been a triple of his own.
