Hammon revealed that Taurasi has a switch in his competitive spirit, comparing her to other basketball greats. She also recalled an instance when Taurasi’s cut-throat attitude got the best of her in a friendly exchange.

Hammon served as one of Popovich's top assistants from 2014 to 2022 before taking over as the head coach of the Las Vegas Aces. She immediately won two WNBA titles and is certainly qualified to make the jump back to the NBA. She almost took over as the Portland Trail Blazers ' head coach but was beat out by Chauncey Billups.
