ST. LOUIS — In March 2018, Jake Neighbours turned 16 and got his driver’s license. From then on, playing for the Midget AAA Calgary Buffaloes, he’d pick up teammate Ozzy Wiesblatt in his gold 2010 Chevy Malibu and the two would head to practice and games together.
Blues coach Jim Montgomery said the team would know more about Neighbours' status after he left the ice. Neighbours is one of six Blues that has played in every game this season, joining Jordan Kyrou, Dylan Holloway, Brayden Schenn, Colton Parayko and Ryan Suter.
Neighbours posted a power-play assist, two shots on goal, three hits and three blocked shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over Calgary.
