Several warming centers are being opened in Region 8 as it gets colder. In Jonesboro, four community centers will act as warming centers at select times: Earl Bell, Allen Park, Jonesboro Youth, and Parker Park.

As the area stares down the oncoming snowstorm, several Warming Centers and shelters are opening across the Mid-South for those who need somewhere to get away from the frigid weather.

The city only opens warming centers when temperatures dip to 24 degrees for at least two hours. Instead, the Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and Homeland has been coordinating with private facilities.
