The US president's comments come after delegations from Washington and Tehran failed to reach a deal following lengthy talks in Islamabad.
Trump’s statement came after more than 21 hours of talks between the U.S. and Iran failed to find a solution to ending the war.
Vice President JD Vance told reporters that "we have not reached an agreement" following face-to-face talks with Iranian leaders and Pakistani negotiators.
"Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz," Trump wrote in a social media rant on Sunday morning.
