Seasoned Los Angeles chef and restaurant consultant Eric Greenspan, who has been linked to the Tesla Diner since last year but hasn’t spoken to the media about it, commented on one of Musk’s posts: “Let’s make happy people. And pie shakes.”

Tesla enthusiasts began lining up outside Elon Musk’s long-awaited Tesla Diner & Drive-In in Hollywood early Monday, eager to get their first glimpse of what’s inside.

In this futuristic diner, a full drive-in movie theatre serves classic comfort food, including burgers, hot dogs, wings, and hand-spun milkshakes.

Before the opening, Musk shared a drone shot of the new diner. In an accompanying comment, he said that if this first Tesla Diner proves popular, the company will open more of them “in major cities around the world as well as at Supercharger sites on long distance routes.”

Elon Musk's Tesla Diner and supercharger station was rumored to open Monday, July 21, but a long line of would-be customers were not being let in as of early Monday afternoon.

The Tesla Diner features large TV screens, allowing drivers to enjoy a movie and some food while they wait for their cars to charge.
