Guardians trade: Shane Bieber is leaving Cleveland
CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Cleveland Guardians are trading one of their All-Star pitchers, FOX 8 confirmed. With the MLB trade deadline looming Thursday at 6 p.m., the Cleveland professional baseball team has opted to trade the Cy Young Award-winning Shane Bieber to the Blue Jays for AA RHP prospect Khal Stephen.

Bieber was currently working on a Guardians contract that paid him $10M. Bieber holds a player option in the contract worth $16M for the 2026 season. The Toronto Blue Jays now control his contract, which includes a $4M buyout clause.
