The final season of Stranger Things roared to its best opening week ever — and the second-biggest premiere for any Netflix original series.

Netflix has released two new character posters from Stranger Things Season 5, finally giving fans an official look at the mystery-shrouded roles of two of the season’s most significant late-revealed characters.

By far the most-watched title on the platform, Stranger Things 5 was followed by two new Netflix original Christmas movies that each put up a decent performance. Jingle Bell Heist, starring Olivia Holt and Connor Swindells, swiped the No. 1 spot with 19.3M views. In second place was the Minka Kelly -led Champagne Problems with 14.4M views.

Nevertheless, the self-report confirms what many of us long assumed: Lots of people are still watching Stranger Things, despite how much it also seems like people are complaining about it. Still, it’s not the best premiere-week viewership ever. That title belongs to Squid Game seasons two and three.
