Multiple agencies are responding to the King Fire burning in the Gorman area in Southern California. The fire sparked east of Interstate 5 near Smokey Bear Road around 1 a.m. on Thursday. More than 400 acres have burned as crews have the fire 5% contained.

A fire broke out south of Gorman early Thursday morning just after 1 a.m. The fire is being described as a brush fire that has now burned 490 acres and is 5% contained, according to Cal Fire. The fire is just east of Smokey Bear Road and Vista Del Lago Road.
