A severe solar storm is bringing the Northern Lights to places that generally don't see them. GPS issues have also been reported
It sometimes feels as though the conversation about weather never ends and for good reason. One week we are watching thunderstorms and tornadoes develop, the next its facing a stretch of freezing temperatures.
Thursday morning, a weak cold front reinforces the dry air in place across the Carolinas, but it won’t bring us any rain. From there, temperatures are climbing nicely through the end of this week and into the upcoming weekend. Before you know it, high temperatures are back in the 70s!
Most afternoons will hold steady in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees and will feel a touch warmer with the humidity returning. As of now, rain chances look low with the weekend trending drier as the timing of the front continues to slow. If there were to be rain, it would be limited to maybe a stray shower or sprinkle.
After another cold start on Wednesday, we will have another beautiful day with lots of sunshine and highs in the upper 60s.
Looking Ahead: A First Alert for possible showers and storms late in the weekend into early next week, as several frontal boundaries approach the region between Sunday and Wednesday.
We are giving you the FIRST ALERT to a repeat of Wednesday. My goodness, what a nice Wednesday throughout Eastern Kentucky. Highs made it into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s, and if you liked those temperatures, you’ll like Thursday and into the weekend. High Pressure is staying in control which is what is keeping us nice and dry.

THE NEXT 24 HOURS: Temperatures will stay above freezing tonight, with lows in the 40s. We may see some patchy fog in the morning due to higher dew points. The remainder of the day Thursday will feature more nice weather, with a big warmup into the 70s.
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Today is a First Alert Weather Day as freezing temperatures are once again present for inland communities, west of I-95. The good news is this morning won’t be quite as cold as Tuesday, but freezing temperatures will be present through the morning commute.
