Los Angeles-area firefighters made significant progress over the week in battling the deadly Palisades and Eaton fires, but evacuation orders for areas impacted by the blazes remain in effect as the weekend begins.

Crews are still struggling to get the upper hand on the two largest fires still burning. At least 25 people have died, but officials unfortunately expect that number to continue rising. Joe Moeller is live in Altadena with the latest on the ground there.

Mandatory evacuation orders are still in place. As of 11:30 a.m. local time Tuesday, all areas under evacuation orders and warnings are placed on a curfew from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time, according to Cal Fire.
