The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee voted Monday for health education programs and the state's community colleges to have their pending budget cuts restored.

The health secretary has long argued doctors lack nutrition training. More than 50 schools say they will boost their nutrition education.

The series of decisions comes after JFAC adopted added 2% cuts last month for most state agencies and leadership on the committee framed budget enhancement requests.
