Polar winds brought unusually early and record-breaking cold temperatures to Florida. Several cities, including Jacksonville, Orlando, and Pensacola, broke their previous low-temperature records.

With temperatures expected to drop Tuesday night, several cold weather shelters will open across Brevard County to provide warmth and safety for those in need.
