Target cutting 1,800 positions, 1,000 employees set to be laid off
Target sent out an email to employees saying it will be cutting 1,800 positions from its corporate offices. 1,000 employees will be laid off and 800 open positions will be closed. Employees won't know if they have been laid off or not until Tuesday.
Target plans to add another 20 more cities for next day delivery by next year, the company said. Target said it offers same-day delivery to over 80% of the U.S. population through Shipt, a delivery subscription service that Target acquired in 2017.
