Is The Sims shutting down one multiplayer mobile game to make room for a new one? Project Rene could be coming sooner than we think.

The news comes as the mysterious next Sims game, Project Rene, is slated for both mobile and PC whenever it launches.

At 1:59 p.m. UTC on Jan. 20, 2026, the game's servers will shut down completely, making the online-only game unplayable.
