Devils captain Nico Hischier will be out 'week-to-week' with an undisclosed injury as New Jersey's slide continues.

New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier has been placed on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 25, the team announced Thursday. Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe said he expects Hischier to be ready to play after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Some roster management is making way for a young prospect to return to the NHL. On Thursday, the New Jersey Devils announced that they have played forward Nico Hischier on injured reserve.

Devils captain Nico Hischier, who suffered an uppoer-body injury after a high cross check vs. Montreal, will be re-evalutated next week, coach Sheldon Keefe said.
