Houston weather: Beautiful Wednesday; tracking our next cold front
A Gulf breeze has returned today which will usher in a gradual warming trend. A cold front is expected this weekend that will dry us out and lower our temperatures.
Houston will reach the lower-80s with a forecast high of 84. Winds are from the southeast which will help increase humidity. One of the staples of finally getting into fall is that when the warmer Gulf air pushes in, the main effect is for some dense fog to fill in each morning through the weekend.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a series of weather alerts for Houston and surrounding counties, urging residents to prepare for heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and the likelihood of severe thunderstorms over the weekend.
