Due to the ongoing government shutdown and nationwide air traffic control staffing shortages, the FAA has directed airlines to reduce flight schedules to continue to maintain safe airspace operations beginning Friday, Nov. 7. Flights on Thursday, Nov. 6, will operate as planned.

Anyone flying out of either of the Dallas and Houston airports will be affected by the FAA cuts and reductions due to the government shutdown. Both Love Field and DFW in Dallas and Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental in Houston are on the list of airports across the country tat will see a noticeable reduction in flight offerings starting Friday,
The flight reductions will be phased in at the FAA's direction. Starting Friday, airlines will cut flights by 4% and continue to cut until they reach 10%.
