Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford) now has another Democratic challenger for his seat representing the 22nd Congressional District.

It's been anticipated for months now but Dr. Jasmeet Bains, who's also a Kern County State Assembly member, has entered the race to challenge Republican Congressman David Valadao.

David Valadao won reelection in the 22nd Congressional District with 53% of the vote. Valadao attributes his win to voter dissatisfaction with the current economy.

Incumbent Republican David Valadao is projected to emerge victorious in California's 22nd Congressional District. The highly contested race was considered to be a tossup.
