Spain's match-winner Aitana Bonmatí said she knew Germany goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger would leave space at her near post after scoring the goal which sets up a European Championship final against England on Sunday.

Aitana Bonmatí has led Spain to the Women's European Championship final after a challenging start. On Wednesday, she scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 semifinal victory over Germany, setting up a rematch against England.

Aitana Bonmati nearly missed the 2025 European Championship due to a bout with viral meningitis the week before the tournament began. But on Wednesday, the two-time Ballon d’Or winner found a late goal to lift Spain to their first appearance in a Euros final.
