Saturday Night Live was new this weekend, with charismatic actor Colman Domingo making his debut as host for the sketch comedy show. He was joined by musical guest Anitta. To open the show, SNL returned to political themes as President Donald Trump -- played by James Austin Johnson -- made some important phone calls from the Oval Office.
This time, the parodied version of Donald Trump — portrayed by James Austin Johnson — addresses politics in the SNL cold open, of course, given the real-life situation happening overseas. But the head of state then proceeds to grab the phone and dial up an old pal of his, which also might not have been a shock: Tiger Woods.
Anitta, whose real name is Larissa de Macedo Machado, opened with “Choka Choka,” which came out on Thursday. The track features Shakira, though the Colombian singer did not appear on the SNL stage with Anitta.
James Austin Johnson returned as President Trump, with the president making some important phone calls from the Oval Office. One of those calls went to golfer Tiger Woods, played by Kenan Thompson, as the president asked inquired if he was playing in the Masters this weekend.
