The report — Decolonised Transformations: Confronting the University of Edinburgh’s History and Legacies of Enslavement and Colonialism — was the result of extensive archival research into “legacies of wealth” amassed from slavery and colonialism in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Travel experts at Condé Nast Traveller recently rounded up the best train journeys throughout the UK. Out of the 17 routes featured on the roundup, five are located in Scotland.

A man has been treated in hospital after reports of a gun being fired in Edinburgh. Police Scotland said officers were called to Hailesland Gardens in the Wester Hailes area at about 15:40. A 23-year-old man was treated in hospital for injuries to his arm but they are not thought to be life-threatening. No-one else was injured.
