Reps. Massie, Greene, Bacon and Lawler join conservative commentators in denouncing president's remarks about the filmmaker's death
President Donald Trump on Monday mocked Rob Reiner, the slain actor and movie director who was also a vocal Democratic activist, suggesting he was killed for his anti-Trump views despite police not outlining a motive for the apparent homicide.
Reiner, who is known for his Hollywood hits like "The Princess Bride" and "A Few Good Men," has been an outspoken critic of Trump. During an interview with MS NOW in October, he said that "our Democracy is being taken away from us" under the current administration.
Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel paid tribute to Rob Reiner after he and his wife were slain, slamming Trump for his comments on the director's murder.
The president's statement was swiftly condemned by social media users across the political spectrum, including some MAGA supporters on Truth Social.
Just hours after Reiner's death alongside his wife Michele on Sunday at their Los Angeles home, Trump blasted the Democratic activist, saying that he died due to "the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME."
Jimmy Kimmel slammed Donald Trump during his Monday night broadcast of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for saying Rob Reiner died “due to the anger he caused others” through his “Trump derangement syndrome.”
One of the downsides of serving in President Donald Trump’s movement is that the moral high ground is extremely unsteady terrain.
