Rhode Island’s second case of West Nile Virus this year was found in a mosquito sample collected in Bristol, state health and environment officials said Thursday. A mosquito sample collected on July 28 by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management later tested positive for West Nile Virus at the state laboratory in Providence.

The virus was found in mosquito samples collected in Bristol and East Providence in July, according to the state Department of Environmental Management.
