(CBS) – “No Kings” events in Anoka and northeast Minneapolis have been canceled so far on Saturday, following the targeted shootings at the homes of two Minnesota lawmakers.
The combination of targeted attacks on state lawmakers and flyers in the suspect's back seat that said "NO KINGS" led officials to warn the public against attending planned protests.
Those millions included an estimated 200,000 people in Los Angeles, 100,000 in Philadelphia, 70,000 in Seattle and over 50,000 in New York.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety issued a warning for the public not to attend the “No Kings” demonstrations planned around the state out of an abundance of caution.
Tim Walz urged avoiding ‘No Kings’ protests after flyers were found in the suspect’s car. Rallies in Anoka and NE Minneapolis were canceled.

The interstate closure won’t be the only event disrupting weekend traffic. There are “No Kings” protests planned across the country against the Trump administration, including an 11 a.m. rally at St.
