The Minnesota State Patrol is asking the public not to attend the No Kings protests set to happen across the state, including the one at the Minnesota State Capitol, though organizers say the event is still going on as planned.

(CBS) – “No Kings” events in Anoka and northeast Minneapolis have been canceled so far on Saturday, following the targeted shootings at the homes of two Minnesota lawmakers.

The combination of targeted attacks on state lawmakers and flyers in the suspect's back seat that said "NO KINGS" led officials to warn the public against attending planned protests.

Those millions included an estimated 200,000 people in Los Angeles, 100,000 in Philadelphia, 70,000 in Seattle and over 50,000 in New York.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety issued a warning for the public not to attend the “No Kings” demonstrations planned around the state out of an abundance of caution.
