Lateef, a true freshman from Compton, Calif., threw for 205 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-15 passing as the Huskers improved to 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the Big Ten, clinching a winning regular season for the first time since 2016.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are West Coast-bound as they look to get back into the win column with a Saturday night matchup against the UCLA Bruins.

Nebraska beat UCLA 28-21 in the first collegiate start for true freshman TJ Lateef. He was 13 for 15 for 205 yards passing with just two incompletions and three touchdowns.

Bruins quarterback Nico Iamaleava fought tooth and nail to will UCLA back into this game. He passed 17-for-25 for 191 yards and two touchdowns, but shined when he had to scramble, rushing for 86 yards on 15 carries, each more important than the last.
