ATLANTA - Health officials in DeKalb County have confirmed the first mosquito trap samples of the year to test positive for West Nile virus, prompting new public health advisories and mosquito control efforts. This comes as Fulton County releases its third update on the West Nile Virus this mosquito season.

Kalamazoo County is reminding residents of steps to take to avoid mosquito bites and illnesses after West Nile virus was detected for the first time this season.

SALT LAKE CITY — 11 mosquito pools in Davis County tested positive for West Nile virus, according to the mosquito abatement district’s Facebook. According to the Centers for Disease Control, cases mostly occur during summer and autumn, which are the mosquito seasons.
