A Ukrainian drone has struck a Russian industrial plant 800 miles from Ukraine, a local official said, after Kyiv prioritised the weapon’s development and Russia pounded Ukraine with a record number of drones last month.

Three people have been killed and 35 taken to hospital following an attack by Ukraine on a factory in the city of Izhevsk - more than 1,000km (620 miles) from the border, Russian authorities say.

Russia and Ukraine are continuing to exchange long-range drone attacks, a defining feature of the ongoing war.
