After it was reported that the Diamondbacks are in the hunt to sign Alex Bregman, the offseason plans for Arizona may have become much clearer.

The lefty ace is entering his final year under team control with the Tigers, with whom Skubal says he wants to be with "for a very long time." The Tigers have exclusive negotiating rights with Skubal until the end of the 2026 season and could come to a long-term agreement,

The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Tuesday that the Diamondbacks “have interest” in Bregman, who is one of the top free agents on the market this winter. Arizona has a major hole at third base after trading slugger Eugenio Suarez, who hit 36 home runs in a D-backs uniform last year, to the Mariners before last July’s trade deadline.
