A strong storm sweeping from Texas to Missouri will bring several inches of rain, flash flooding and rounds of severe thunderstorms with hail, high winds and an isolated tornado threat into Friday.

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has launched a new fund aimed at providing critical mental health support for families who lost loved ones in the devastating July 4 floods.

The National Weather Service has canceled the flash flood warning for much of Southern California. Flooding, mud and debris flows continue to cause headaches across Southern California as a significant atmospheric river soaked the region.

On Monday at 6:51 p.m. an updated flood advisory was released by the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA in effect until 9 p.m. for Los Angeles.

In the aftermath of the Guadalupe River’s catastrophic flooding in July, Texans from across the state showed up for the communities devastated by the disaster. Ordinary people performed heroic feats, from raising funds and comforting neighbors to pushing for new legislation and even searching for lost stuffed animals.

"The Flood Warning will expire at 4 a.m. early this morning for a portion of southeast California, including the following area, Inyo. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," according to the NWS Las Vegas NV.
