Fauja Singh, known as the Turbaned Torpedo and believed to be the world’s oldest marathon runner, has died at 114 after being hit by a car in India.

Competing in London in 2011, he claimed to be 100, though his exact age remained a mystery. “I run while talking to God,” he said in explaining his endurance.

A man who endured so much and witnessed so much said his greatest regret was not doing more to inspire young people.
